Brandon and Courtney get engaged!

Even though I'm an ASU grad (twice) and a Sun Devil to the core I had to move to Tucson (land of the UofA Wildcats) when my husband received an amazing job offer we couldn't pass up. Upon moving here my hubby made some quick friends from work and one of them happened to be our now really good buddy Brandon. Over the past almost two years now that we have lived here one of the things my husband and I always look forward to are the times we get to spend with Brandon and not have to worry about work.

Well recently Brandon's time had to be shared because he met a great girl named Courtney and it just so happens that we go to the same church! (small world I know) After meeting her my hubby and I would often make comments that they are really good together and would even enjoy the double dates we got to have together. (We knew this girl was special and were hoping Brandon wouldn't let this one slip through his fingers)

Anywho, their relationship progressed and about two months ago Brandon sent me a text asking if I still took photos and would be willing to photograph the moment he proposed to Courtney. I of course said yes and frantically begged for a day off work so we could plan it and make sure it was super special for Court.

So the big day arrived and we were going to go "hiking" with our dogs and I was going to "take pics of the dogs and post it on my blog." (she bought it, although she wasn't very excited about going hiking haha).

So the following pictures are a compilation of her special moments and then we were blessed with an AMAZING sunset and took some pics of that too. :)

Mitzi of corse was oblivious and had no idea what was going on I had a hard time making her stay near by when there was so much area to explore!

At this point I did the whole "hey guys want to get a picture together??!?!!" (this was the cure for Brandon to pop the question)

I Just LOVE the following play by play of the proposal (notice the little puppy checking out the ring hehe)

SHE SAID YES!!!

Then as the sun started to set we thought we would try and get some of that beautiful background that I really only people can capture in Arizona :)

I really wish I had taken an upclose pic of the ring because Brandon did a GOOD JOB let me tell you!

And as the sun finally finished its decent we took this last pic and I really think it turned out wonderful and I really hope these two the best as they start a brand new chapter in their lives :)
CONGRATS COURTNEY AND BRANDON!!

Sedona trip; through a puppy's eyes

Recently my husband and I were able to have some time off together (this is a total rarity) and took a little trip north to Sedona with our seven month old White German Shepherd. I really wish I had taken the time to take a picture of how we packed the car because let me just say that it was a huge accomplishment with all the stuff we brought. The funny thing is it was mostly our puppy's belongings! I now have a little insight into what people with babies talk about when they say they pack up what seems to be their whole lives in the car for a trip with the little ones!.

This short three day, two night trip consisted of us doing a little hiking at Chapel Rock and some sight seeing and we even took a day trip to Out of Africa where we got a little too much sun and saw amazing wild life. Here in this post I'll show a few pics from both places we were able to visit.

After observing the awesome view of Chapel Rock, Mitzi insisted on a game of fetch with whatever logs or sticks she could find. Previous to this day, Mitzi would only wade in the stream near our house and would get super nervous when she had to swim in the deep parts, but here she really embraced the swimming and we actually had to put her leash back on for a while to drag her away from the water.

The next day, me and the hubby dropped Mitzi off at a local dog sitter and went to Out of Africa. It was an awesome day and I even kissed a Giraffe (three times!)

The Kiss:

I probably took 300 pictures of the Zebras but I'll just show one for now, they were super awesome and would walk right up to the but on the tour!

If you ever get a chance to go to Out of Africa I highly recommend seeing the Tiger Splash show! (the pics I tried to take of the Tiger going in the pool to the right had a big pole in the way....) If I ever go again I will defiantly have a different lens for my camera and will sit WAY closer... (and away from poles that block the the good shots!)

I made friends with this little guy and took quite a few pics of him :)

On the drive home part of our trip we stopped off at the ranger station and Mitzi met some people and posed for a bunch of pics (White Shepherds are quite a site up in places where the dirt is red)

Only YOU and Mitzi can prevent forest fires

I'm really hoping this year will bring me and my little family more adventures that will give me the motivation to go on this blog more! It seems each time I get on here I keep saying I'm going to try and post more on here and then life happens and I get super busy! But after this little trip we took, I'm more motivated to take more time with my family and share my adventures on here!
